Write for us
Local Insight Hub welcomes pitches that help a general reader notice and understand a place more clearly. Send proposals through the Contact page, with a concise description of the question, the likely approach and why the subject suits the publication.
What to pitch
We are interested in original, evergreen pieces about street clues, buildings, maps, landscapes and local history. A strong pitch begins with a precise question and offers a clear way to explore it, such as explaining a map convention, comparing ways to read a street layout or tracing the visible form of an older feature.
What makes a proposal useful
Tell us the central idea, the reader takeaway and the sources or materials you expect to use. Flag uncertainty, disputed interpretations and any access or image needs. Avoid pitches that depend on unverified local claims, professional advice, or first-hand testing presented as universal proof.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. A short pitch is enough to begin; please do not send a complete commissioned-length piece unless it has been requested. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for clarification before deciding whether it fits.
